A
Return to Relationship Banking
Our founder, Harold Campbell, sought to fill a void in the
banking industry. He saw that over the years with branch banking
and
mergers, banks had become impersonal. With the advent of the
national banks and regional banks, customers were often left
out of the process. Also, many banks no longer had authority
to serve their customers without calling the home office in
another city. Thus, Dallas City Bank, chartered in 2003, set
out to serve
people and businesses in North Dallas in a personal way. First-hand
friendships and knowledge of local businesses provided the
foundation for this brand of service.
In 2009, the bank added a second branch in Preston Center
known as Preston State Bank. This branch serves the Park Cities,
Preston Hollow and North Dallas markets. Once the dominant
community bank in the area from the 1940s through 1984, the
Preston State
name stands for innovation, personal service and a community
spirit tied to multi-generational families.
We believe that the Preston State name signifies a return
to relationship-based, localized banking. For this reason,
we
changed the name of Dallas City Bank to Preston State Bank.
Now, with
locations in North Dallas and Preston Center, the bank
represents a personal approach linked with community involvement.
Our
bankers serve people in the community where they live.
This revived name
and commitment to personal banking are sure to remind customers
and the communities we serve of the good old days and the
good days to come.
